It is pitch black outside at 1:30 in the morning. I am groping for my headband/ flashlight. I find it in the stream which has risen two feet during the night. A bright light like daylight surrounds me when I turn on the flashlight. I look up through the branches of a sparkling tree. I move side to side to see if the branches are obscuring the sun, but they are not. Apparently, the light is coming directly from the tree. I have an important mission and I walk into town. There, hundreds of people are busy outside preparing for a major event. They align themselves on either side of the main street, working hastily to finish a construction project that everyone knows will be inadequate.
