We’re bringing animation back to the Midnight Movies with Oscar-nominated animator Bill Plympton’s Idiots & Angels. Plympton is best known for such surreal, hand-animated shorts as “Your Face,” “25 Ways to Quit Smoking” and “Guard Dog.” He’s also made a number of feature films such as Mutant Aliens, I Married a Strange Person! and Hair High . This newest feature is a wordless modern fantasy about a booze-guzzling, cigarette-smoking bad-ass who wakes up one day to find angel wings growing out of his back. Worst of all, these wings prompt him to commit random acts of kindness. Unwilling to give up his nasty ways, our anti-hero tries to rid himself of his saintly new appendages. The film screens Friday and Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. at Guild Cinema. Tickets are $7 or $5 if you’re a member at Burning Paradise Video.
