Trichocereus Pachanoi (San Pedro Cactus) is native to the high Andes. The San Pedro Cactus is a very hardy and easy to grow columnar cactus, often growing a foot per year and reaching heights of over 15 feet (a 40 foot specimen has been recorded).

I have been propogating and growing these cacti for 16 years. I own over 30 of them, and in that period I have only had one bloom.

Over the course of the last month, two pods grew into buds on one stem. This past weekend it bloomed. The bloom starts to open before sunset and only lasts a day. Here’s a pic just as it started to open.
