It’s awesome when any New Mexico-born musician gets national attention. It’s interesting that I just spent a chunk of last week listening to Beirut’s Gulag Orkestar to review it for the upcoming issue. The rep. from their record label, Ba Da Bing!, told me that Beirut and label mates (and fellow New Mexicans) A Hawk and a Hacksaw will be hitting up Albuquerque during their tour. There’s no confirmation on Beirut’s MySpace page, so we’ll see.
