The annual Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital fundraiser known as Mud Volleyball occurred last Saturday, June 18. Several Albuquerque businesses and generous individuals put together volleyball teams to play against each other on one of 88 volleyball courts that have been dug up and filled with water. You won’t find any Gabriel Reese’s here, and don’t even think you can get away with staying clean. In fact you don’t even have to know how to play volleyball. The only requirements are clothes and shoes you intend to throw away and a new roll of duct tape to help keep on your shoes. Our own Alibi team, called the Intimuddators, played four games, only winning one but having a great time trying to take each other down in the mud. When was the last time you got to play in the mud?
