Spammity Spam

I’m fascinated by people who turn junk to art. Today on Slashdot, there’s a bit about this computer artist Alex Dragulescu who makes these really beautiful Spam Plants.

Now, I’m not great with technological stuff, so I might get this next part wrong. But what I get from the article is that Dragulescu wrote algorithms that tracked his incoming spam and allowed him to model the organic-looking structures that grew out of the patterns discovered. If I’m terribly wrong, feel free to comment or just read the damn article yourself.

They certainly are beautiful, though. Who knew those e-mails offering to increase the size of my penis or help me lose 75 pounds next week could become something so lovely?
