Where Have All the Coaches Gone?

The NBA season is less than a third of the way through, and already 20 percent of the coaches have been tossed on their behinds.
The New York Times has an article discussing the lack of patience in NBA head coaches. General managers and owners are allowed to make mistake after mistake before public opinion turns on them, but coaches are quickly blamed by both fans and the front office when teams struggle.

It’s tough to fire an owner no matter how many horrible moves they make, but general managers should be kept on shorter leashes. They’re the ones responsible for assembling the players on the team, and, as has been proven time and time again, players win games in the NBA much more so than coaches.
