Super Bowl Movie Trailers

The Super Bowl is usually a good opportunity to ogle some hot upcoming movie trailers. Generally speaking, the ads on this year’s Super Bowl were a surprisingly dull lot. But we still managed a few big movie trailers. Alice in Wonderland, The Wolfman and Shutter Island all slipped in trailers. Of course, we’ve seen plenty previews of these three films in the last couple of months, so that was no big deal.

Among the new batch of trailers was Ridley Scott’s take on
Robin Hood . Although Russell Crowe looks good as the bow-slinging hero, it’s hard to shake the “been there, done that” vibe of the trailer.

Next up was the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy
The Back-Up Plan . While I can’t get excited about another Jennifer Lopez rom-com, the trailer manages a couple of edgy laughs.

The final trailer was probably the most exciting, a sneak-peak at Jake Gyllenhaal in
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time . Videogames aren’t the best source of inspiration for movies ( Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li , anyone?), but this could be decent pre-summer blockbuster fun.
