This has got to be one of the smallest dinosaurs ever, right? This sparrow-sized pterodactyl discovered in China looks harmless enough (I was just struck by a pleasant fantasy wherein I have one as a pet and it perches on my shoulder, obliterating careless flies), but scientists think it may be the ancestor for the giant reptiles sporting 20-foot wingspans that came after it. National Geographic, as always, has a number of cool photos to scroll through.
