On Saturday night, two friends and I were walking in Nob Hill, and on the corner of Central and Tulane was a man with a telescope pointed south by southeast toward Jupiter. Out of the goodness of his cosmos-loving heart, he was offering passersby the chance to see the gas giant, it’s red and orange cloud layers and a handful of its 63 moons. It was fascinating, beautiful and the best thing that happened to me all week. Thank you, telescope guy, that was really cool of you.
