Man, we’ve gotten some really great awards this year.

A few months ago, we sent some manilla envelopes off to the National Federation of Press Women to compete against non-daily papers across the country. To be honest, we weren’t so sure we’d ever hear from them again, and promptly forgot about the whole thing.

But today, we got some happy surprises in the old inbox.

Food and Music Editor Laura Marrich rocked first place in the national competition for Section Edited by Entrant. She also snagged third for Single Page Edited by Entrant.

Editor in Chief Steven Robert Allen stole the silver for Publication Regularly Edited by Entrant.

News/Managing Editor Christie Chisholm could proudly hoist a third-place trophy, if there was one, for her news story “Intolerable.”

Crowns all around. Let the reveling commence.
