As you'll notice in the full-page advertisement in this week's Alibi, Bob Dylan and Merle Haggard are coming to Albuquerque on April 11. The show is at the notoriously terrible-sounding Tingley Coliseum and the tickets are pricey, but the chance to see this pair is tough to pass up. I'm not a big fan of the washed-out rockstar circuit, but Dylan has always been an exception for me. I've seen him eight times over the years, at various venues around the country and once in the Netherlands. The truth is I love him as much as I love my own father. I've never seen Haggard, but the last time he came around my country-lovin' friends said he put on quite a show.
Anyway, if you're interested, here's a little secret for you. The ad says the tickets go on sale Friday, and can be purchased at livenation.com, but, actually, so-called presale ticketing has already started. If you want excellent seats, go to ticketmaster.com right now and search for the show. In the password window, type in “coyote.” Don't say I never did anything for you.
