The Vincent R. Johnson Models of Hope Awards, created by Pride & Equality magazine after being frustrated with the inaccurate portrayal of LGBT men and women, aim to spotlight those in the LGBT community who are outstanding role models for youth and adults alike. The recipients this year, including New Mexico GLBTQ Center’s David Stocum, 100.3 The Peak’s Donnie Chase and Equality New Mexico’s Jordon Johnson, will be honored with a dinner and ceremony 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Albuquerque Convention Center (401 Second Street NW). It’s followed by a celebration concert at Effex Nightclub (100 Fifth Street SW) Downtown on Saturday. Tickets for the dinner and ceremony are $35 at myprideonline.com.
