After a whole lot of hype-filled discussion about the Lobo men’s basketball team and their chances of making the NCAA tournament, it’s actually the Lady Lobos who are in the big dance. Don Flanagan’s team was a four-seed going into the Mountain West Tournament last week, but they won it all, and that earns them an automatic invite to the field of 64 teams that will be announced today. They won’t get a very high seed, but just making the tournament is a huge accomplishment, especially for a team in a rebuilding year. The Lobo men, meanwhile, lost in the first round of their tournament and will have to be content with playing in the National Invitational Tournament (NIT).
