Dirk Goes Down Dirk Nowitzki of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks is out indefinitely with a high ankle sprain and mildly sprained knee. Nowitzki’s injury happened Sunday during the Mavericks’ loss to the San Antonio Spurs. With twelve games left, Dallas has to regroup in a hurry if they want to make the playoffs, because the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors are breathing down their necks for the final two playoff spots. Since trading for all-star guard Jason Kidd, the Mavs have not beaten a team with a winning record. Baseball’s First Pitch Opening day of the 2008 Major League Baseball season kicks off tomorrow in Tokyo. The Boston Red Sox will face the Oakland A’s in the Tokyo Dome as part of Major League baseball’s admiral attempt to bring MLB action to other parts of the globe.
