It's your basic apocalyptic urban fantasy/horror story: Good versus Evil, prophecies fulfilled, “the One” with the special powers, yadda yadda yadda. Yet unlike–say, Constantine–it doesn't make you feel like a big loser for watching it all the way through. As any science fiction fan with an intact brain stem can tell you, the thrill of the genre comes when a fantasy world has rules and the story evolves with respect to those rules.
