House Minority Leader John Boehner (he apparently pronounces it Baynor but I’ve also heard it pronounced Boner, which is substantially funnier) made an appearance on Fox News Channel last night. He mentioned that if the war in Iraq doesn’t start going our way by this fall, even Republicans will start to lose patience. “By the time we get to September, October,” Boehner said, “members are going to want to know how well this is working, and if it isn’t, what’s Plan B.” Very sensible, John, but we’re already on Plan D—or is it E? If this doesn’t work, you’re going to have to come to terms with the fact that we’ve run out of alternatives. Right? John? You’re with me on this one, aren’t you?
