Here’s a good way to waste some time at the office: Googlism.

By now, you’re likely privy to the Google Game (that’s not actually what it’s called, just what I call it), wherein you type your name into the search engine followed by the word “is,” or “needs,” etc. and see what the Internet has to say about you. It goes something like this: I type “Christie is” into the search bar, and the first listing says, “Christie is an assassin hired by Donovan to keep an eye on, and eventually kill, Helena Douglas.” It’s actually just a description of a video game plot off Wikipedia, but it makes for good, wholesome fun.

Now, the folks at Googlism have taken all the “work” out of the game, eliminating the step of sifting through search results. It’s the same thing. It’s just another way to do it. Here are some of the things it had to say about the
Alibi :

“alibi is a sure sign you are already in trouble and that your secrecy/deception plan has failed”

“alibi is a free weekly news and entertainment newspaper published every thursday in Albuquerque” (that’s one’s true)

“alibi is an easy as well as entertaining read” (why, thank you)

“alibi is albuquerque’s most reliable source for news and entertainment the other guys ignore” (I’m starting to blush)

“alibi is a somewhat flattering term for your excuse for losing”

“alibi is the name of the life game”

I also took the liberty of searching for my own name …

“christie is home to a wide variety of waterfowl”

“christie is a man or a woman”

“christie is a hotty from the old school”
(again with the blushing)

… and the names of the rest of the editorial team, wherein:

“devin is the dude”

“steve is sexxy” (notice the exxtra “x” for emphasis)

“amy is obsessed”

“marisa is a rock star”

and

“laura is dangerous”

Good times.
