The Alibi has often done well at the AltWeekly Awards, a national contest involving the 125 papers that belong to the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies. This year, thankfully, is no exception. Jim Scarantino is a finalist for his bi-weekly column, “The Real Side.” And Marisa Demarco is a finalist for news story writing (short form). Congrats to all. The final rankings will be announced at AAN’s annual convention in Portland, Ore., from June 14-16.
