If the line out the door is any indication, the most comforting food named by the readers is Tia B’s Waffleria. This place is stupid good with literally something for all diets. They have both vegan and gluten-free options that don’t suck. Try a blue lavender waffle with house-made blueberry sauce and lavender whipped cream or the biscuits and gravy waffle made from biscuit dough with stellar sawmill gravy and topped with eggs. With front and back dog-friendly, shaded patio seating, you’ll feel right at home. (MF)

Best Of Burque Restaurants 2018 Best Buffet

While it is a chain, this is not just a buffet. Meatland. Meatopia, if you will. It’s a lot of meat. Like so much meat. Like unlimited with a literal stop and go indicator on the tables for continuous meat servings. You don’t even have to get up. To be fair, they do also have a buffet of sides, salads and desserts, but who can think about that when bountiful perfectly cooked meat is literally being cut off a juicy hunk and onto a plate—at your table. Also good for dates that aren’t afraid to get gluttonous around someone new. (MF)

Best Of Burque Restaurants 2018 Best Greasy Spoon

Frontier Restaurant really isn’t a greasy spoon; Larry makes sure the joint is one of the cleanest, most comfortable places to eat in town. He does this by offering a brand of food that is comforting and recognizably yummy while keeping the place shiny bright with a staff of literally hundreds of white-aproned college kids. It may not be a greasy spoon in those regards, but we can always dream and the Frontier filled to the brim with decent eats and paintings of John Wayne happens to be what Americans dream of when someone says the magic words, greasy spoon. Best Of Burque Restaurants 2018 Largest Portions

When going to Weck’s, our readers know to come hungry. Boasting a full belly tradition since ’91, Weck’s serves up some serious grub. Order the full stack of plate-sized pancakes or try the papas (a mountain of hash browns, chile, cheese, eggs and all the breakfast meats) and your stomach won’t know what hit it. (TG)
