I can't imagine going to anyone but Rachel Sanchez at Hair Addiction. A friend, and hair idol, of mine referred me to her, and now I am referring all of my friends to Rachel. She's wonderful.

Tricklock, hands-down. Their productions are great and the ensemble is made of amazing people.
Best Local Band Overall
The gypsy swing band Le Chat Lunatique. They worked magic in Tricklock's Love and Beauty this past fall and since then I can't get enough of them. Just thinking about their sweet sound sends chills up my spine.
Best Breakfast
The Saturday brunch at the Blue Dragon is out of this world. My favorite brunch offerings are the vegetable latkes, the sweet potato waffles, the crepes, the portobello quiche … everything on the menu is stellar.
Best Iced Coffee/People-Watching
When the weather gets hot, I want iced coffee. When I get iced coffee, I go to Winnings. When I go to Winnings, I sit out front in the shade and watch the wide variety of people walking by or sitting next to me. Winnings makes a damned good iced coffee, and (my favorite part) they serve it in a screw top jar.
