Held at UNM School of Law (1117 Stanford NE), Room 2401. 7 p.m. • Albuquerque Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony Parade from Bullhead Park, then music by the NMARNG 44 th Army Band, fallen warrior tribute and speakers at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial (1100 Louisiana SE). Park-and-ride available; call 311 for details. 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. • Veterans’ Day Parade and Ceremony in Santa Fe Parade begins in downtown Santa Fe. A commemorative ceremony follows at the Veteran’s Memorial on the west side of the Bataan Memorial Building (Montezuma and Galisteo). New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services Secretary John Garcia will give the welcoming address. 10 a.m. parade, 11 a.m. ceremony. • Veterans Day Ceremony Held at Rio Rancho Veterans Monument Park (off of Southern on Pinetree, between the Esther Bone Memorial Library and a post office). Speakers include Mayor Tom Swisstack of Rio Rancho. 11 a.m. • Free Veterans Day Entrée at Applebee’s Veterans and active duty military personnel (with proof of service) can choose from a selection of entrée items at participating Applebee’s restaurants. Visit applebees.com/vetsday for details. • Free Admission to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science is offering free admission in honor of those who served. (The DynaTheater and planetarium admission charges remain.) • Free Admission to the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History recognizes veterans and military members with free admission. Visitors can experience tours led by museum docents who are also veterans. There will be a patriotic performance by the men’s a capella group 505 Chorus at 4 p.m. Friday, November 12 • New Mexico Veterans Art Exhibit Support local artists who are veterans at the Expo New Mexico (300 San Pedro NE) Fine Arts Building. The show opens at 6 p.m. Friday, then runs Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Wounded Warrior Benefit Dinner Dance Gary Sinise, the actor known as Lt. Dan in the movie Forrest Gump , plays with the Lt. Dan Band at this fundraiser held at Atlantic Aviation. Individual tickets start at $150.
