The Albuquerque Public Schools will have an election on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017 to elect members to the Board of Education in school board districts 3, 5, 6 and 7. Though many qualified individuals are running, voters should be aware that members of the Tea Party and affiliated far-right political movements are fielding candidates in this election.Citizens can halt the incursion of such reactionary candidates by voting for progressive, education- and equality-minded candidates.
