Meet at the corner of Richmond Drive SE and Santa Cruz Avenue SE under the white tent with the GALT-NM banner.GALT-NM was formed by the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas in August of 2017. GALT recently merged with another Greyhound adoption group in Austin, TX, now known as GALT-Central Texas. Working together as one all-volunteer 501(c)(3) with the mission of "No Grey Turned Away" all GALT chapters will work to find homes for sighthounds with the motto of "No Grey Turned Away."To date, GALT has assisted more than 3,200 Greyhounds and sight hounds in finding their forever homes since the organization’s inception in 2001. Expenses for dogs in our care run on average over $1,000 per day and donations from individuals provide the funds needed for GALT to continue to give care and sustenance for the injured, sick, abused and neglected Greyhounds. GALT’s all-volunteer non-profit corporation is dedicated to placing all Greyhounds, primarily those that competed and trained for racing, and sight hounds into loving homes. GALT facilitates the adoption of Greyhounds by providing kennel services and foster homes along with their medical needs, including spay and neuter, assisting them in the transition from track-life to home-life, and educating the public about why the Greyhound has been a favored companion dog for more than 4,000 years.
