Dateline: Japan– It’s probably not the first time they’ve come in handy, but a Japanese pinup model was saved a stint in jail thanks to her overly large breasts. Serena Kozakura, 38, was charged with breaking into a man’s apartment by kicking a hole in his door and crawling through because he was with another woman. The bikini model was later cleared of all charges after defense lawyers held up a plate showing the size of the hole that Serena was accused of kicking in. The lawyers demonstrated that Kozakura’s 44-inch bust would not fit through the opening. “I used to hate my body so much, but it was my breasts that won in court,” Kozakura said. Judge Kunio Harad of the Tokyo High Court threw out the guilty verdict, saying there was reasonable doubt about the man’s story. Dateline: China– A brave villager rescued a 7-year-old boy from a pond–20 years after rescuing the boy’s father from the exact same spot. Wang Weiqing, 58, of Beicheng village, Danyang City, is being hailed as a hero, reports the Yangtse Evening News. “I was walking along the pool with my own grandson, then spotted a boy struggling in the water,” he said. Wang jumped in and saved the youth. The grandfather of the rescued boy soon arrived and was amazed to see the rescuer was the same man who had saved his son, the boy’s father, from the same pool 20 years earlier. “I can hardly believe it,” said the grandfather, Wang Huajian. The grandfather later made a silk banner to thank Wang Weiqing for saving two generations of his family. Dateline: Minnesota– Last week, a St. Paul man pleaded guilty to fifth-degree assault for striking a woman at a bus stop while on his way to anger management class. Justin John Boudin, 27, was waiting at the bus stop at Minnesota and East Seventh streets at about 5 p.m., Aug. 29, when he accosted a 59-year-old woman and others. “Why don’t you show me some respect?” he reportedly yelled at the woman. When she took out a cell phone to call police, he hit her in the face, according to the criminal complaint. When a 63-year-old man tried to stop Boudin, Boudin beat him with a blue folder and fled. Police were able to track Boudin from the blue folder, which he dropped. The folder contained Boudin’s anger management homework. The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office told the Pioneer Press Boudin can expect to face a sentence of time served plus probation at his May 5 hearing. Dateline: Kentucky– A 28-inch tall woman is being hailed as a medical miracle after giving birth to an 18-inch girl. Stacey Herald was told by doctors that having a child could kill her, crushing her internal organs. But the 33-year-old from Dry Ridge recently gave birth to her second daughter, Makya. Guinness World Records is now investigating whether Herald is officially the smallest mother on Earth. Makya is expected to reach an average height. Her 16-month-old sister suffers from the same condition as her mother, osteogenesis imperfecta. The miniature mother added 20 pounds to her 52-pound frame during the pregnancy. Herald’s husband is 5 foot 9 inches tall. Dateline: Washington– Daniel Kuch, 21, of Pasco, was so desperate to get some time off work he convinced a friend to shoot him in the shoulder. At first, Kuch told Franklin County deputies he’d been the victim of a drive-by shooting while he was out jogging last Thursday. But detectives said Kuch later confessed that he asked a friend to put a bullet in him so he could get some time off work and avoid a drug test. The incident started when Oleg Barbarosh drove Kuch and his other friend, Kurtis Johnson, 24, about three-and-a-half miles out on the Pasco-Kahlotus highway. While standing in front of the car, Johnson aimed the revolver at close range onto Kuch’s shoulder, court documents said. The gun misfired several times, but eventually Johnson managed to squeeze a round into Kuch’s shoulder. Johnson then jumped into a second car and left while Barbarosh drove Kuch to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. Johnson is now charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, while Kuch is charged with false reporting. Kuch allegedly hoped the bullet would keep him out of work long enough for his body to clean out the drugs in his system so he could pass an employee drug test at the warehouse where he works.
