What are you doing Wednesday afternoon?

At 1 p.m., scores of people will gather in the lobby of Popejoy Hall. They will clap once every time they think a minute has passed. No timers allowed. They will do this for an hour.

It’s part of the
John Donald Robb Composers’ Symposium at UNM right now. Tomorrow is “New Music Wednesday.”

The clapping piece is called “Time After Time After” by
Adam Overton.

Raven Chacon (discolsure: friend/bandmate) and William Fowler Collins will play the ARTS Lab on the corner of Pine and Central at 4 p.m. And I’m pretty sure I mean that literally. They will play the lab.

At 7:30 p.m., there’s a show in Keller Hall featuring works by
George Lewis, Thomas Licata, John Marvin, Chacon, Overton and Fowler Collins.

I’m going to get out there with the
Alibi- cam and drag home blog-worthy clips. But don’t wait for my film kung fu (which is shaky and weak). This stuff is free and massive, and we’re lucky Albuquerque is home to it every year. Go. Make your Wednesday hours more engaging than they would have been.
