Oh, Ranger! is (well, technically, was) one of the great Albuquerque bands. It’s a project that encapsulates the tail-end of the ABQ Golden Years—Oh, Ranger! didn’t get off the ground until 2000, after the 90s waymakers began jumping ship for families or the Pacific Northwest. You could call it emo-shoegaze. It’s probably better just to listen. Here’s Boyd Reno, Lucas Spider (both are in Seattle now, still collaborating as Gray Beast), Noelan Ramirez and Gil Sanchez with "Meezy" off Matching Up (Socyermom, 2003).
