It’s feelin’ hot in here, so take out all your zines and head on down to the Dirty Zine Reading tomorrow, brought to you by the upcoming third annual ABQ Zine Fest. It’ll be a night of DIY debauchery, featuring raunchy readings from local sex-positive zinesters of all stripes, guaranteed to get your pulse racing and your britches itchin’ for some action. Feel like gettin’ funky? Get up and dance to sexy music with house band Wet Medicine. Who knew Sundays could be this delightfully sinful? Doors open at 8pm at The Tannex in Barelas (1417 Fourth Street SW). This is gonna be a wicked sexxxy event, so no kids please. Writing Dirty: Skills for Writing About Sex
Let’s talk about sex, baby—and write about it too! Most of all, let’s embrace it as the glorious creative experience it can be. And who better to jump-start those creative juices than Sinclair Sexsmith? Sexsmith is an educator, coach and writer who specializes in, you guessed it, sexuality. This Monday, find out how words can speak louder than actions at Sexsmith’s “Writing Dirty: Skills for writing about sex,” to be held 7:30-9 p.m. tonight at Self Serve (3904-B Central SE). The cost is $20 per person, or $35 for a pair. Take a paper and writing utensil for writing exercises. Register at selfservetoys.com. For information, call 265-5815.
