Thursday 15

“Macy’s Presents: Fashion’s Front Row” (E! 9pm) It’s Fashion Week in New York and E! is giving us access to the star-studded Macy’s fashion show. Please dress appropriately.

Friday 16

“High Maintenance” (HBO 9pm) Brace yourself for a whole wave of weed-based TV shows. Ben Sinclair, who created this comedy with his wife Katja Blichfeld, stars as “The Guy,” a Brooklyn marijuana dealer who delivers the goods to various stressed-out clients across NYC.

“Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace” (Cartoon Network 1:15am) This sketch comedy, set largely in a post-apocalyptic world, is described as “a super pure tragicomedy rosary of pious prayers bringing unity, joy and excellent living to all.” So, yeah, more of Adult Swim weirdness.

Saturday 17

The Beatles: Eight Days a Week—The Touring Years (Hulu streaming anytime) Academy Award-winner Ron Howard directs this documentary feature, which relates the Fab Four’s early days out on the road.

Dracula’s Dog (TCM 12am) What? Dracula had a dog. What’s so hard to believe about that?

Sunday 18

“The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards” (KOAT-7 6pm) Jimmy Kimmel, the old college roommate your parents don’t like, hosts.

“The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey” (KRQE-13 7pm) Just in time for the … 20th anniversary of her death, CBS assembles a bunch of investigators to solve the murder of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey. Well, this ought to wrap things up neatly.

Monday 19

“Fashion Police: 2016 Emmy Awards” (E! 9pm) Who wore what, who hated it and why.

“Kevin Can Wait” (KRQE-13 7:30pm) Kevin James stars as a cop who retires from the police force and figures he’ll have it easy hanging out with the wife and kids. Turns out—hilariously—that family life is much harder than he thought. Rest assured, mainstream American viewers, there will be plenty of fat guy jokes.

Tuesday 20

“Bull” (KRQE-13 8pm) Michael Weatherly (“NCIS”) stars as a “brash and charming” psychologist whose “human intuition and high-tech data” are used to influence juries. It’s loosely based on the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw, who executive produces.

“Strut” (Oxygen 10pm) Sure, reality shows about modeling and fashion have been done before. But the contestants on this groundbreaking program—executive produced by Whoopi Goldberg—are all transgender. So, yeah, welcome to the middle rung of basic cable TV, folks.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (KOAT-7 9pm) It’s a whole new world for the agents in the wake of Captain America: Civil War. Also, they’re adding a new cast member in the form of Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna)!

“This Is Us” (KOB-4 9pm) This family dramedy, starring Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, is the work of big-time writer Dan Fogelman (Cars, Tangled; Crazy, Stupid, Love.).

Wednesday 21

“Lethal Weapon” (KASA-2 7pm) If you liked the TV version of Rush Hour, you’ll love the TV version of … What’s that? You didn’t like the TV version of Rush Hour? Nobody did? It was canceled in less than a season? Oh, well.

“Designated Survivor” (KOAT-7 9pm) After basically everybody else in Washington D.C. is killed in a terrorist attack, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) inherits the office of president. … Eh, still probably better than anyone running this year.
