Thursday 21

“French & Saunders Christmas Celebrity Special” (BBC America 9 p.m.) The ladies from “Absolutely Fabulous” reunite for this seasonal sketch comedy show featuring plenty of celeb impersonations.

Friday 22

“Eighth Annual Home for the Holidays With Rod Stewart” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) This annual music special helps to raise awareness of the more than half a million children in foster care in the United States. … It’s bad enough these kids are orphans; do we have to scare them with the likes of Rod Stewart?

Saturday 23

Inuyashi Movie Marathon (Cartoon Network 12 a.m.) Insomniac anime will be happy with tonight’s movie marathon feauturing three Inuyashi films: Fire on Mystic Island, Sword of an Honorable Ruler and Castle Beyond the Looking Glass.

007 Days of Christmas (Spike 6:30 p.m.) Manly action channel Spike counts down to Christmas with a seven-day marathon of James Bond films. Tonight: 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever .

Sunday 24

34 th on 24 th Marathon (AMC 9:30 a.m.) It’s a 24-hour marathon of Miracle on 34 th Street. Just to shake things up, AMC will be alternating the black and white original, the colorized version and the “making of” documentary.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (TBS 5:30 p.m.) You are, by law, required to watch this Dr. Seuss classic at least once this season.

24 Hours of A Christmas Story (TBS 6 p.m.) TBS kicks off its annual Christmas-Eve-to-Christmas-Day marathon of A Christmas Story . Who are you to resist?

Robocop is Coming to Town (Encore Action 10 p.m.) Yeah, I have no idea what Robocop has to do with Christmas either. But Encore’s Action channel is giving us a 24-hour marathon of the three (count ’em!) Robocop films–for those of you who like your holidays filled with violent sci-fi action.

Monday 25

Cowboys for Christmas (AMC 4 p.m.) AMC goes for a little counter-programming, delivering a 24-hour marathon of old cowboy movies. This should keep grandpa quiet. Park him on the Barcalounger in front of 1956’s The Last Wagon and he’s good to go for the rest of the day.

“Deal or No Deal” (KOB-4 7 p.m.) The residents of Santa Claus, Ind., compete for cash. … Clever, but it’s still “Deal or No Deal.”

Tuesday 26

“Rudolph’s Shiny New Year” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Rudolph goes looking for the New Year’s Baby in this “pushing the concept” 1976 holiday special from Rankin/Bass.

“29 th Annual Kennedy Center Honors” (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) Producer Andrew Lloyd Webber, conductor Zubin Mehta, singer Dolly Parton, singer Smokey Robinson and director Steven Spielberg get big medals. Unfortunately, Jessica Simpson re-recorded her muck up of Dolly’s “9 to 5,” so don’t tune in looking for a cheap laugh.

Wednesday 27

“Funniest Commercials 2006” (TBS 8 p.m.) “SNL” alum Kevin Nealon hosts this look back at the wackiest most laugh-inducing TV commercials of 2006.
