Thursday 17

Bob Barker: A Celebration of 50 Years on TV” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) Sick days just aren’t going to be the same without Bob Barker. Now, Tuesday midmorning TV viewing will be a vast wasteland of soap operas and judge shows.

Lost: The Answers” (KOAT-7 9:07 p.m.) How much can we expect from a “Lost” special titled “The Answers”? Well, this season has been shockingly unobtuse. Perhaps listening to executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse discuss this past season’s revelatory storylines will actually help put things in perspective for a change.

Friday 18

That’s the Way It Is: Celebrating Walter Cronkite at 90” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) Diane Sawyer, Dan Rather, George Clooney and Spike Lee are just a few of those paying tribute to The Cronk.

National Bingo Night” (KOAT-7 8 p.m.) The night you waste an entire hour watching people play bingo on primetime television is the night you realize your life is a bottomless cesspool staring back at you, probing the depths of your wasted and meaningless existence with its unblinking black eye.

Saturday 19

The Last Days of Left Eye” (VH1 7 p.m.) This documentary about TLC singer Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes is fascinating in a creepy sort of way. Turns out camera crews were filming her during the last couple weeks of her life—up to and including her fatal 2002 car crash.

Sunday 20

Expedition Bhutan” (Discovery 7 p.m.) Few people are even aware that the mountainous South Asian country of Bhutan even exists. Fewer still have been there. You can’t even visit without express permission from the King of Bhutan. Discovery Channel got it, and filmed this revealing documentary.

The Simpsons” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) I realize, of course, that it’s nothing but shameless self-promotion on the part of FOX, but I’m still amused by tonight’s “Simpsons” season finale titled “24 Minutes.” In it, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) arrives in Springfield to save the world from terrorists.

Monday 21

24” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) See, I told you it was nothing but self-promotion. Tonight, FOX delivers the explosive (no doubt) two-hour season finale of “24.”

Heroes” (KOB-4 8 p.m.) The first story arc on “Heroes” comes to an end as our super-powered lifesavers try to stop an exploding man from blowing up New York. Biggest roadblock: They’re still not sure who the exploding man is supposed to be: Syler? Ted? Peter?

Tuesday 22

On the Lot” (KASA-2 8 p.m.) TV’s newest reality series is produced by Mark Burnett (of “Survivor” fame) and Steven Spielberg (of E.T. fame). In it, a group of would-be filmmakers get to crank out short films on a weekly basis. Viewers vote for the best, with losers getting the boot. The ultimate filmmaker gets a million-dollar development deal with DreamWorks.

Wednesday 23

Lost” (KOAT-7 8 p.m.) ABC’s got two hours to wrap this season up. After that, it’s three more seasons and bye-bye. The seasons are only 16 episodes each and will run uninterrupted by reruns each spring until 2010.
