Tall Glass of Twine New Mexico’s very own Blythe Eden Dance Company has put together an original modern dance performance that will be staged this week during Wild Dancing West, a three-week dance festival over at the North Fourth Art Center (4904 Fourth Street NW). Twine is choreographed by Eden and features performances by company members Jacqueline Garcia, Allie Hankins and Jesse Wintermute along with original music by Jennifer Ruffalo. The show runs Friday, May 25, and Saturday, May 26, at 8 p.m., as well as Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 general, $8 students/seniors. They can be ordered by calling 344-4542.

Confessions of a Tapist— A retrospective exhibit focusing on Patrick Nagatani‘s use of masking tape opens this week at 516 Arts (516 Central SW). Confessions of a Tapist covers 23 years of mixed-media work by the famous New Mexico artist. The show opens this Saturday, May 26, with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. It runs through July 21. A sister exhibit featuring artists inspired by Nagatani will run in the upstairs gallery. For details, call 242-1445 or go to 516arts.org.

Georgia and Frida— Two of the most famous female artists of the 20 th century—Frida Kahlo and Georgia O’Keeffe—will get the musical theater treatment starting this week at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The production, scripted by Harry Clark, is based on two-decades worth of intimate correspondence between the two painters. Still Life runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 6 p.m., with additional 3 p.m. matinees on Saturdays and Sunday, through June 3. Tickets are $15 adults, $12 students/seniors. The Politics of Hair— Sol Arts flashes its gay pride with The Politics of Hair , a late-night comedy piece written and directed by Lou Clark. The play features Lisa Fenstermacher, performing 13 different roles in 40 minutes. The Politics of Hair runs Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. through June 9 at Sol Arts (712 Central SE). $10 general, $5 students/seniors. 244-0049.
