Wise Fool New Mexico is hitting the road with it’s latest show featuring stunning puppetry, masks and theater, Baggage . Baggage uses these creative tools to tell the true tales of domestic and sexual violence survivors from Northern New Mexico.

The tour, which stops in Taos, Farmington, Albuquerque, Socorro and a few more communities, kicks off this weekend with a performance at the Wise Fool Performance Space (2778 Agua Fria, Santa Fe, 505-992-2588) Friday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10-$20 and available at www.wisefoolnm.org. Baggage contains adult themes and is not suitable for children under 12.

Twenty Photographers, One Model

One model, 20 photographers, endless possibilities—but really, can one model have that many looks? Find out when twenty photographers, each with a different view and artistic style, display their photos of the far-from-camera-shy Rose Bryan in 1×20 , opening Friday, Sept. 7, with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Downtown Contemporary Art Center (105 Fourth Street SW, 242-1983). The show will be on display through Oct. 20.

A Moveable Masterpiece

OFFCenter Community Arts Studio (808 Park SW, 247-1172) excels at making art available to everyone, and on Friday, Sept. 7, they want you to help make a masterpiece. But not just any masterpiece, a moveable masterpiece. Stop by from 5 to 9 p.m. to paint with local artists Janet Hoezel and Jeff Sipe. The work will hang in the OFFCenter Gallery. Then stick around to enjoy live music and refreshments. Enter a raffle to win one of the masterpieces. This event is a benefit for the nonprofit art center, so all $20 per person or $25 per couple or family will go to giving our community more creative opportunity.
