“9/11’s Deadly Dust” (A&E 8 p.m.) Elvis’ death, Princess Diana’s death: We’ve had a lot of anniversaries lately. Well, brace yourself, because this week is a biggie: The sixth anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center. Here, A&E examines the growing health concerns of rescue workers who spent weeks at Ground Zero.

“Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) Tim Gunn, the perceptive fashion guru from “Project Runway,” gets his won show, dishing out fashion dos and don’ts. I’m all ears, Tim.

Friday 7

“Fashion Rocks” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) Aerosmith, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, Fall Out Boy and a whole bunch more indiscriminate musicians rock out at Radio City Music Hall while models parade back and forth.

Saturday 8

“COPS” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) Tonight, it’s the 20 th season premiere. Isn’t it about time for people to start getting rearrested on this show? … Wait. I already made that joke once. Damn, this show has been on too long.

“Torchwood” (BBC America 7 p.m.) Hell, yeah! BBC hit “Doctor Who” gets a sexed-up spin-off with this new sci-fi series about a clandestine government organization dealing with the surge in alien contact in early 21 st century England.

Sunday 9

“Tell Me You Love Me” (HBO 10 p.m.) No, HBO’s Sunday night lineup isn’t what it used to be. I can’t say whether or not this new drama about the amorous ups and downs of three middle-class couples will be a hit or not, but I can promise it will be incredibly explicit. … Man, I love cable.

“2007 MTV Video Music Awards” (MTV 10 p.m.) Fighting declining ratings, MTV has vowed to make this year’s VMAs hip, cutting edge and totally unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. To those ends, they’ve allegedly talked Britney Spears into opening the show. … Which would be awesome if this were the year 2000.

Monday 10

“Monday Night Football” (ESPN 5 p.m.) The preseason is over with, sports fans. Now you can start caring for real with the 38th season opener of “Monday Night Football.” It’s a double-header, even: Baltimore at Cincinnati and Arizona at San Francisco.

Tuesday 11

“Ground Zero Search and Recovery” (History 7 p.m.) That seems to be the topic du jour for this year’s 9/11 anniversary. They should interview Rudy Giuliani—after all, he spent more time down there than the rescue workers.

Wednesday 12

“Decision House” (KASY-50 7 p.m.) Troubled couples try to save their relationships by having on-camera therapy sessions for a new reality show. … Yeah, that ought to fix things right up.

“Brown is the New Green: George Lopez and the American Dream” (KNME-5 8 p.m.) The life and career of comedian George Lopez is the subject of study to see how American media and Hispanic marketing shape today’s Latino identity. I wonder how Balls of Fury fits into that.
