Reel World: Oz Again? Oz Again?
In case you missed it the first time around, Fathom Events has prepared another 70 th anniversary screening of The Wizard of Oz at theaters across the U.S. On Tuesday, Nov. 17, there will be an encore rebroadcast of the HD digital screening. This special event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be introduced with a taped interview from Robert Osborne, film historian and TCM host. Osborne will share facts and stories about this family favorite and will introduce a short documentary on the making of the 1939 film, titled “To Oz! The Making of a Classic.” Tickets are available locally at participating theater box offices (Downtown 14, Rio 24) and online at FathomEvents.com.
Reel World: Audition Like A Pro Audition Like A Pro
Are you a local actor looking to make your film audition stand out from the crowd? Two advanced audition workshops for actors will be led by casting director Kathryn Brink ( Wild Hogs , “In Plain Sight”) on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21 and 22. These workshops are “not appropriate for beginners (or those under 18) or those with no prior film audition experience.” The workshops will concentrate on scene work and monologues with special emphasis on “fine-tuning your audition for film.” The workshops will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 304 Washington SE.
