But he was also Ernie Lazarro in The Jerky Boys (worth seeing if only for Tom Jones singing “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz) and Bean in Freebie and the Bean. It’s worth mentioning that he voiced Schmendrick in the classic The Last Unicorn and played the lily-livered George Aaronow in Glengarry Glen Ross . He’s been a part of your life.Now he can be the guy reading to you from his memoir, An Improvised Life, on Tuesday, March 1, at the KiMo Theatre (423 Central NW) at 7 p.m. The event is free, but if you buy a copy of the book from Bookworks (4022 Rio Grande NW), not only will you be helping out a local merchant, but you get your seat half an hour early.

Jon Sanchez and Jeremy Montoya screen-print to make concert posters for bands, among other things. Many of the music-themed prints they have produced feature prominently in Imprint, a new show at the KiMo Art Gallery (417 Central NW). Channing Avery is also a printmaker but uses woodblock and linoleum (a technique known as linocut) to make his, which are inspired by Mexican illustrations. It’s important to have your children read, lest they become like the speed demons in Fahrenheit 451, running people over for fun every weekend. Here’s your chance to help stop the bleak near future from ever happening: the ninth annual Read to Me Book Drive, sponsored by the Albuquerque library system. Bring gently used children’s books to Borders bookstores, Applebee’s, any city library, La Montañita Co-op and John Brooks Supermarts. You can also bring them to the Lobos women’s basketball game at the Pit on March 1 at 6 p.m. for a discounted ticket. You can get a free ticket for each book at Lobos baseball games at Isotopes Park on March 4 at 3 p.m. or March 26 at 6 p.m. The event ends March 31.The choice is yours. Teach the kids to read or we shall surely die at their hands. FYI: Lolita does not qualify as a children’s book. Thank you.
