If you haven't had a chance to check out Macpherson's MoRo Gallery, located at 806 Mountain NW, this month's Artscrawl provides a prime opportunity. His Fog exhibit opens that evening, Friday, Aug. 20, with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. For details, call the gallery at 242-6272.
This month's Artscrawl gallery tour is citywide with over 20 galleries offering a host of cool events for Albuquerque art freaks. After you dawdle through Macpherson's show, you might as well hoof it over to the Harwood Art Center next door to browse through shows featuring work by the Digital Fine Art Society of New Mexico; abstract art by John Mulvany, Diana Ruth and Molly Geissman; and Virginia Baich's mixed-media pieces. 242-6367.
More digital work—by Judith Baker, Bomi Parakh and Ursula Freer—can be found at the New Fisher Gallery in Nob Hill (1620 Central SE, 242-6367). If you can make it all the way up to the hinterland of the Northeast Heights, a show called Forms and Fluid Composition also opens Artscrawl eve at the Weyrich Gallery with glass constructions by Lisa Chernoff, paintings by Sharon Schwartzmann, and jewelry by Kathryn and Russell Spiering.
Plenty more where that came from, my artsy comrades. Jump on the Artscrawl bandwagon by logging onto www.artscrawlabq.org/Current/current.html or by calling 244-0362.
