Lotus Eye Productions is casting for a new webisode series set to shoot every other Saturday in January. The series is being produced under SAG’s New Media Contract. No pay is involved, but “great exposure” is promised. Producers are looking for four main characters—two women, two men and one transvestite dominatrix—all in their thirties. Auditions will take place Saturday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Split Vision Studios (300-A Aspen Road). Idiot Box: “I Double Dog Dare Ya!”
Still getting into the holiday spirit? I’ve got the ticket for you. KiMo Theatre is hosting a screening of the classic comedy A Christmas Story on Friday, Dec. 16, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Based on the short stories of humorist Jean Shepherd and directed by Bob Clark ( Porky’s … no, really), the wickedly funny film about bunny suits, scary Santas, turkey-scarfing dogs and “a Red Ryder BB gun with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time” has become something of an annual holiday tradition. Tickets are $5 to $10, and proceeds will go to help fund next year’s Albuquerque Film Festival. Bring a toy for the Toys for Tots drive and you’ll get free popcorn at the KiMo concession stand.
Idiot Box: Lawyer Up
Sure, you’re a well-paid lawyer … but what you really want to do is be on TV. Am I right? Good news. An Emmy Award-winning producer will be shooting a pilot for a docu-reality show featuring real lawyers, law students and private investigators right here in New Mexico. The show will be based around “fascinating real criminal cases in and around New Mexico.” The cast will be divided into two teams—prosecutors and defense—who will present and defend their positions.
