Thursday 2

“Bad Judge” (KOB-4 8pm) OK, OK, so you didn’t like “Bad Teacher” with Ari Graynor. How about “Bad Judge” with Kate Walsh?

“Gracepoint” (KASA-2 8pm) Former “Doctor Who” star David Tennant lands himself a pretty easy assignment, playing a detective who investigates the murder of a young boy in small-town California. Why easy? Because he played the exact same role last year in the original UK version, titled “Broadchurch.”

“A to Z” (KOB-4 8:30pm) Cristin Milioti (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Ben Feldman (“Mad Men”) star in this extremely “How I Met Your Mother”-esque romantic mystery. Katey Sagal narrates the show, cagily warning viewers that the main characters (Andrew and Zelda, get it?) only date for nine months. What then? If “How I Met Your Mother” is any model, we’ll find out the answer in nine years.

“Jean-Claude Van Damme: Behind Closed Doors” (Reelz 9pm) Belgian martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme isn’t going to get a better behind-the-scenes confessional than the fictional (but no less prescient) movie JCVD. Still, this is a Van Damme reality show. I’m gonna watch.

Friday 3

“On the Menu” (TNT 6pm) In TNT’s new cooking competition, amateur chefs must come up with a new dish for a chain restaurant. Tonight: the monumental challenge of creating a new burger for Chili’s. … Um, some kinda Asian barbecue thing?

“Star Wars Rebels” (Disney 7pm) This computer-animated series fills in the gap between Star Wars: Episode III and Star Wars: Episode IV. That means it could serve as a teaser/sneak preview for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII feature.

Saturday 4

Dark Haul (Syfy 7pm) Previously (and more honestly) known as Monster Truck, this Syfy Channel film finds a group of supernatural truckers hauling a deadly demon across the country in an 18-wheeler (as one often does).

“Survivor’s Remorse” (Starz 7pm) NBA All-Star LeBron James produces this half-hour scripted comedy about a 20-year-old basketball phenom who gets recruited to a pro basketball team in Atlanta.

Sunday 5

.

“Mulaney” (KASA-2 8:30pm) Nice guy comedian John Mulaney gets his own “Seinfeld”-esque sitcom.

Monday 6

Dead Still (Syfy 7pm) A supernatural camera kills people. Cause that’s what supernatural cameras do.

“Supernatural: A Very Supernatural Special” (KWBQ-19 8pm) Forgot what happened in the first nine seasons of “Supernatural”? Don’t worry, The CW is here to help.

Tuesday 7

“The Flash” (KWBQ-19 7pm) The CW has done a solid job with the appropriately superhero-y series “Arrow.” So why not let the network loose on DC’s other B-lister, The Flash.

“Nail’d It” (Oxygen 7pm) If you guessed “nail art reality show competition,” you are correct. No points will be awarded, however. That was too easy.

“Town of the Living Dead” (Syfy 8pm) In this totally uncontrived docu-reality series, an entire Alabama town tries to make a crappy zombie movie.

Wednesday 8

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” (FX 11pm) Kathy Bates with a beard? Sarah Paulson with a Siamese twin? Angela Bassett with three boobs? It’s gonna be a good Halloween month!
