5th Annual Frida Fiesta @ W!ld Moon Boutique™ Join Us for the 5th Annual Frida Fiesta! Saturday July 25 from 5 – 8 PM at the W!ld Moon Boutique!Celebrate Frida Kahlo’s 108th birthday (July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954) at the 5th Annual Frida Fiesta sponsored by the W!ld Moon Boutique™—Where the W!ld WoMan Shops! This year it will be held in the Patio Market in Old Town Albuquerque. Frida has been the Boutique’s icon since day one of its opening in September 2009. Sally Moon, Executive Producer, initiated the first Frida Fiesta in Albuquerque in July 2011 very simply by inviting her friends to dress up in typical Frida attire, buying a birthday cake and offering refreshments for anyone walking by.Each year the celebration has grown. From just friends dressing up, it has now evolved into a highly anticipated yearly event, featuring a Frida Fashion Show, Frida Look-a-Like Contest, and Frida Parade through Old Town. And of course there will be music and birthday cake.Frida Fashion ShowThe Frida Fashion Show will range from traditional trajes to a modern spin on what our audacious Frida would have possibly worn today. Sally Moon, American Couture of the W!ld Moon Couture Design House & Showroom, orchestrates the fashions with her typical flair. Sally exemplifies her fashion vision in her W!ld, yet elegant style in soft leathers: deer and lamb suede. All her designs are handcrafted. In honor of Frida Kahlo, Sally has created huipiles (women’s tops) made of lamb suede with traditional hand embroidered flowers applied to the leather, these are part of the Xochitl™ Wearable Art Collection. Sally has merged her two passions—leather and huipiles—resulting in a complement of color, hand-craftsmanship, and beauty. www.WildMoonCouture.com Frida Look-a-Like ContestCome in your best rendition of Frida!
