So what can you do as a parent to build a strong foundation from day one of your child’s life?The City of Albuquerque Early Head Start Program offers a free home-based program that works together with you and your child in their natural environment to help build that strong foundation for life long success. The City of Albuquerque Early Head Start Program offers home-based options for children six weeks to three years of age.What does the City of Albuquerque Early Head Start Home-based Program offer?-Weekly home visits with a Home Educator.-Work with families to support children’s ongoing development and learning.-Together plan activities that support your child’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.-Monthly socializations to meet and share your experiences with other children and parents in the program.-Parents do not have to be working or attending school to qualify for the home-based option, eligibility is based on family income.-There is no fee to participate in the Early Head Start Program.Benefits to Parents:-Support for you and your child.-Learn to advocate for services you and your child need.-Positive parenting practices.-Safe home environments.-Connection to resources: housing, WIC, childcare-Assistance with goal-setting.Let’s work together to help give your child a head start in life.
