Next year, New Mexico Women in Film is planning a “quadri-city” event for its annual NMWIF Fiesta. The mission of the 2017 Fiesta is to honor current NMWIF members, regardless of gender, who are in good standing by showcasing the creativity, vision and artistry of their film work. April 20 through 23, the Fiesta will take place in Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Las Cruces and Santa Fe. In order to qualify for the NMWIF Fiesta 2017, entrants must be a current NMWIF member. If you are not a NMWIF member and would like to submit a film, you need to go to NMWIF.com to apply for a membership before submitting your film. This Thursday, Dec. 15, is the regular deadline for submission. Submissions by this date will cost $15 each. Fees go up at the late deadline (Jan. 15) and the extended deadline (Jan. 31). Film students at an institution of higher education in the state of New Mexico do not need to be an NMWIF member in order to submit a film, and entry fees are waived. Submissions are currently being accepted on filmfreeway.com. If you have questions about the Fiesta, feel free to contact NMWIF Fiesta producer Shelene Bridge at nmwiffiesta@gmail.com.
