A Charlie Brown Christmas” (KOAT-7 7pm) Yeah. OK. Why not? I mean, I’ll probably flip past it at least. Or put in on as background. It’s been at least five or six years since I actually sat down and watched it all the way through. But what’s the point, really? I can probably recite the whole thing out loud after all these years. On the other hand, it is kind of a tradition. I mean, how can I not? Nostalgia and all that. Sure, if there’s nothing else on. Maybe. We’ll see.

Friday 23

“Sense8: A Christmas Special” (Netflix streaming anytime) The mind-bending, multicultural, multi-sexual sci-fi series from creators Lana and Lilly Wachowski (formerly Larry and Andy Wachowski) and J. Michael Straczynski opts for a two-hour Christmas special before the debut of season 2 next May. At the very least, it will be interesting to see how this strange, sweeping narrative about psychically linked strangers pulls off a Christmas episode. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” this will not be.

“Travelers” (Netflix streaming anytime) Eric McCormack (“Will & Grace”) stars in this sci-fi series about time travelers in the future who send their conscious minds back into the bodies of random strangers in order to fix the planet and save humanity from a horrible future. It’s written and created by the guy who gave us “Stargate SG-1,” “Stargate: Atlantis” and “SGU.”

“Trollhunters” (Netflix streaming anytime) Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) is the creator of this simple cartoon about a small-town teen (voiced by the late Anton Yelchin) who is magically chosen to join a war between friendly trolls and other, more evil supernatural monsters.

“A Home For the Holidays” (KRQE-13 7pm) Watch out, it’s that time of the year when celebrities try to guilt you into adopting kids. Also Miranda Lambert and Rachel Platten sing.

Saturday 24

It’s a Wonderful Life (KOB-4 7pm) Yeah. OK. Why not? I mean, I’ll probably flip past it at least. …

24 Hours of A Christmas Story (TBS/TNT 6pm) Hurry up, you’ve only got 11 more chances to watch this movie.

Sunday 25

See “
Idiot Box.”

Monday 26

“Jonas Restaurant: Family Style” (Food 5pm) In the grand tradition of “Wahlburgers” comes another reality show about a relative of some famous people (in this case, the Jonas Brothers) opening a restaurant.

Tuesday 27

“The 39th Annual Kennedy Center Honors” (KRQE-13 8pm) Pianist Martha Argerich, singer Mavis Staples, musician James Taylor, actor Al Pacino and rock band the Eagles try to make polite small talk in the audience while various people come to the stage and praise them—including host Stephen Colbert.

“Bizarre Foods: Frozen” (Travel 7pm) Andrew Zimmern looks at the strangest foods eaten by people who live below freezing in some of the coldest, most inhospitable places on Earth.

Wednesday 28

“My Crazy Sex” (Lifetime Movie Network 8pm) From the makers of the docu-reality show “My Crazy Ex” comes the next logical step: intimate tales of ordinary people’s most ridiculous sexual misadventures. It’s like Letters to Penthouse—only true. And not hot.
