“The Mist” (Spike 8pm) Stephen King’s 1980 novella gets “re-imagined” as a weekly series in which the residents of a small town in Maine fight off monsters that emerge from an ominous, ever-present fog.

“The Gong Show” (KOAT-7 9pm) Chuck Barris’ snarky-stupid talent show from the late ’70s returns with a new host, 62-year-old British TV comic “Tommy Maitland .” (Actually, it’s Mike Myers in disguise.) Yeah, this just got weird.

Friday 23

“GLOW” (Netflix streaming anytime) Alison Brie (“Community”) stars in this campy, fictionalized dramedy about the ‘80s sensation known as the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.

More Than T (Showtime 5pm) Six transgender individuals share their unique experiences with Silas Howard (writer, director and founder of the queer punk band Tribe 8).

“Ancient Aliens: Declassified” (History 6pm) Hardcore conspiracy theorists will love this space-invading spin-off airing for four hours (!) every Friday.

Saturday 24

Tiny House of Terror (Lifetime Movie Network 6pm) OK, now you’ve gone too far, Lifetime. I was fine with you terrorizing suburbanites with your killer babysitters and principals and stepfathers. But now you’re scaring hipsters by turning trendy tiny houses into objects of murder and fright. Not cool.

“2017 Nitro World Games” (KOB-4 7pm) NBC takes over from MTV, giving viewers three hours’ worth of radical, Red Bull-fueled motocross/BMX/skate/scooter action.

Sunday 25

“2017 BET Awards” (BET/Spike/VH1 6pm) Leslie Jones (Ghostbusters) hosts. Musical guests Bruno Mars, Future, Migos and Trey Songz drop by.

“Hotel Transylvania: The Series” (Disney 9pm) The computer-animated flick about Dracula and his daughter running a hotel for monsters gets turned into a weekly (traditionally animated) series.

Monday 26

“Explorer” (National Geographic 8pm) Among the topics of tonight’s science-based newsmagazine show: the link between sports and head trauma. Albuquerque athlete Patrick Grange is among the subjects. He was the first soccer player to be diagnosed by Boston University with CTE. Since his passing five years ago, his parents have been on a mission to spread head trauma safety and awareness.

Tuesday 27

“Pretty Little Liars” (Freeform 6pm) “Desperate Housewives” for teens comes to an end after seven seasons with this two-hour, secret-spilling series finale.

Wednesday 28

Okja (Netflix streaming anytime) Korean writer-director Bong Joon Ho (who gave us The Host, Mother and Snowpiercer) premieres his latest, a fantasy drama about a young girl who tries to rescue a giant, hippo-like beast from an evil, multinational corporation. Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal and Lily Collins star.

“Hood Adjacent with James Davis” (Comedy Central 10pm) Comedian James Davis—who’s evidently more “black-ish” than black—explores contemporary urban topics.
