Thursday 28

“Mobile Home Disaster” (KWBQ-19 8 p.m.) The WB gets all rednecky on us with this home makeover parody featuring comedian Bill Engvall leading an eccentric makeover team to renovate a mobile home and make one family the envy of the trailer park.

Friday 29

“JAG” (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) After being shot down by another network, this military/legal drama was rescued and ended up lasting some 10 years. Tonight, it finally flies off into the sunset with Harm (David James Elliot) and Mac (Catherine Bell) attempting to work out their personal and professional relationships as they are assigned to new posts in San Diego and London.

Saturday 30

Man-Thing (Sci-Fi 7 p.m.) All hopes that this latest Marvel comics adaptation would be a Spider-Man-sized hit are pretty much destroyed by the fact that it's premiering not in theaters, but on the Sci-Fi Channel. According to the '70s horror comic original, “Whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch.” This time around, whatever knows mediocrity

Warm Springs (HBO 9:30 p.m.) HBO's newest high-class drama has Franklin Roosevelt (Kenneth Branagh) and Eleanor Roosevelt (Cynthia Nixon from “Sex and the City”) seeking a cure for the future president's polio in 1921. … Funny, but I don't recall the Roosevelts ever looking quite that good.

Sunday 1

“Family Guy” (KASA-2 8 p.m.) Some three years after it was canceled, Seth McFarland's animated sitcom returns to FOX. I don't find it funny, but you might. So enjoy.

“American Dad” (KASA-2 8:30 p.m.) As if McFarland wasn't having a good enough day already, FOX brings on board his newest animated sitcom. Frankly, since the differences between this and “Family Guy” are cosmetic at best, I think putting them back-to-back is gonna make McFarland look like a bit of a one-trick pony. But I'm busy watching HBO anyway.

Riding the Bus With My Sister (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) This weepy film, based on some weepy book, has a fashion photographer (Andie MacDowell) bonding with her mentally impaired sister (Rosie O'Donnell) after the sudden death of their father. Watching Rosie O'Donnell play an endearing, developmentally disabled woman? That's the kind of duty I'd shoot myself in the foot to avoid.

Monday 2

“Million Dollar Recipe” (Bravo 6 p.m.) Seven contestants roll out their best recipes for Pillsbury's annual Bake Off.

Tuesday 3

“Nick at Night's Search for the Funniest Mom in America” (Nickelodeon 8 p.m.) A group of women compete for $50,000 and the chance to get their own show on Nickelodeon. Imagine how proud a teenage girl would be to see her mother performing wacky pratfalls on national television.

Wednesday 4

“Dr. Phil Prime Time Special: Escaping Danger” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) Why do I think of Dr. Phil as the nonsupernatural version of self-appointed “speaker for the dead” John Edward? He's probably a nice guy, but I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.
