“Sacred Games” (Netflix streaming anytime) Vikram Chandra’s best-selling 2006 Mumbai cop thriller gets an eight-part adaptation courtesy of Netflix.

Saturday 7

“Summer Camp Island” (Cartoon Network 7am) Julia Pott, former staff writer on “Adventure Time,” launches her new series about an elephant and a hedgehog who are dropped off at a magical summer camp. (Like talking animals aren’t magic enough.)

“Earth: One Amazing Day” (BBC America 7pm) Over the course of a single day, BBC’s nature filmmakers track the sun across the face of the Earth, touching on every environment from mountains to jungles to urban landscapes.

Sunday 8

“Evel Live” (History 6pm) In this live, three-hour event, professional motorsports icon and Nitro Circus leader Travis Pastrana salutes stunt legend Evel Knievel by recreating three of his most dangerous feats in Las Vegas.

“The 2000s” (CNN 7pm) Dear god! Have things gotten so bad that we’re actually nostalgic for the early 2000s?

“Sharp Objects” (HBO 7pm) This eight-episode adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s debut novel is written by Marti Noxon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “UnREAL”) and directed by Jean-Marc Valleé (Wild, “Big Little Lies”). Amy Adams stars as a troubled crime reporter who returns to her hometown and gets entangled in the murder of two young girls.

Monday 9

“Hot Rods and Muscle Cars” (History 6pm) History Channel adds some horsepower, looking at bad-ass vehicles—from deuce coupes to Rocket 88s.

Tuesday 10

“The Outpost” (KWBQ-19 8pm) The brains behind the Stargate franchise are responsible for the fantasy adventure series about a young woman (Jessica Green from “Ash vs Evil Dead”) who uses her magical abilities to track down the brutal mercenaries who destroyed her peaceful village.

“Paid Off With Michael Torpey” (truTV 8pm) Comedian Michael Torpey (“Orange is the New Black”) hosts this gameshow, which promises to pay off people’s student loans. No, really.

Wednesday 11

“TKO: Total Knock Out” (KRQE-13 7pm) TV’s newest foam-rubber-covered obstacle course competition looks like it grew directly out of the firesale from ABC’s old show “Wipeout.”

“Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters” (truTV 8pm) Comedian-turned-filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait is behind this anthology comedy series which promises to mash up “different genres to tell suspenseful stories with funny, imaginative twists.” Think “Black Mirror,” but with jokes. Michael Ian Black, Dave Foley, Seth Green, Melissa Joan Hart, David Koechner and Danny Pudi are among the guest stars signed up for the first season.

“Seatbelt Psychic” (Lifetime 8:03pm) What if your Über driver were psychic? That’s the premise of Lifetime’s newest series, which basically mashes up “Hollywood Medium” and “Cash Cab.” World-renowned medium Thomas John picks up unsuspecting people in his ride-share vehicle and offers to commune with the dead for them while they battle cross-town traffic.

“Mister Tachyon” (Viceland 9pm) Hip-hop music video guru (and director of the recent SuperFly remake) Director X helms this trippy “MythBusters”-meets-“X Files” look at fringe science.
