Thursday 27

“The Good Place” (KOAT-7 7pm) Season 3 of ABC’s brilliant afterlife comedy shakes things up again by heading to … Earth of all places.

“Murphy Brown” (KRQE-13 9:29pm) A scant 20 years after going off the air, CBS’ newsroom comedy returns, original cast intact, for Season 11.

Friday 28

King Lear (Netflix streaming anytime) Netflix gets all kinda high-tone with this version of Shakespeare’s classic adapted and directed by Richard Eyre (Iris, Notes on a Scandal) and starring the likes of Anthony Hopkins, Emily Watson, Jim Broadbent, Emma Thompson and Christopher Eccleston.

“The Cool Kids” (KASA-2 7:30pm) A rowdy, opinionated bunch of elderly folks (including David Allan Grier, Martin Mull, Leslie Jordan and Vicki Lawrence) shake up their retirement community in this sitcom created by Charlie Day (star of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”).

“Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story” (Disney 8:40pm) Don’t get too excited, Disney’s Descendants fans, this live-action short is only 10 minutes long. This time around, the teenage sons and daughters of famed Disney villains are clashing underwater, Little Mermaid-style.

Saturday 29

All Of My Heart: The Wedding (Hallmark 7pm) It’s taken three while movies for Jenny and Brian (Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott), co-owners of a romantic country bed and breakfast, to get around to falling in love and getting married. This is the most painfully stretched-out rom-com since Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux.

Sunday 30

“Halloween Wars” (Food 7pm) Halloween is only a month away. You might as well get in the decorating mood by watching teams of talented pumpkin carvers, cake artists and sugar sculptors create elaborate, edible, holiday-themed displays. It should kill any lingering hopes that you’ll do something cool by the 31st.

Monday 1

“Us & Them” (Sony Crackle streaming anytime) Alexis Bledel (“Gilmore Girls”) and Jason Ritter (“Parenthood”) star in this 2013 remake of the British series “Gavin & Stacey,” which was commissioned by—and then dumped by—FOX. After five years of sitting in a vault, Sony dug it up. Enjoy!

“The Neighborhood” (KRQE-13 7pm) A white dude (Max Greenfield from “New Girl”) moves in next door to a black guy (Cedric the Entertainer). Oh, just imagine the subtle cultural differences that are going to be highlighted!

“Happy Together” (KRQE-13 7:30pm) The life of a happily married couple (Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West) is turned upside down when the husband’s biggest accounting client—the world’s most popular, Harry Styles-esque pop star (Aussie kid Felix Mallard)—unexpectedly moves into their basement. You know. Like ALF. … Is it just me or does this sound more like a Disney Channel sitcom?

Tuesday 2

“Trans Am” (Discovery 8pm) This new muscle car docuseries centers on brothers Scott and Tod Warmack, who bought the rights to the legendary automotive brand and are trying to revive it in a post-“Bandit” world.

Wednesday 3

“Expedition Unknown: Hunt For the Yeti” (Discovery 7pm) I have full confidence that—just like every other televised hunt for Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster, Al Capone’s vault, ghosts and various buried treasures—this special will result in conclusive proof of the Yeti’s existence.
