This Friday, June 3, at Trevor Lucero Studio (500 Second Street SW), Jennifer Burkley unveils her “Tylenol Room,” an ambitious art installation constructed from more than half a million pills. Doing it old school! Instructor Matthew Hoffman along with seven eager young artists from Working Classroom constructed pin-hole cameras from plastic and contact cement. They cost about $10. Using these simple photographic tools, they produced over 200 images, some of which will be on display at the Visiones Gallery (212 Gold SW) in an exhibit opening Friday, June 3, with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will be catered by Whole Foods. As part of the year-long celebration of our city's 300th birthday, each month will have a different theme. June is dance month, which means that over the next 30 days a bunch of dance events will take place all over town.
This Friday, June 3, at 7 p.m., 16 of Albuquerque's finest dance groups will engage in a collaborative dance performance at the KiMo Theatre. Tickets are $20. 768-3522. The next night, Saturday, June 4, on Civic Plaza, Redwing Dancers and Pueblo Dance Groups will present a free performance from 6 to 8 p.m. Then later in the month, from Wednesday, June 22, through Sunday, June 26, Festival Folklorico will offer daily dance workshops by master instructors from Mexico and New Mexico.

An exhibit of new work by local neo-realist painter Leo Neufeld opens this Friday evening, June 3, with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nob Hill's Dartmouth Street Gallery (3011 Monte Vista NE). The show marks Neufeld's first solo exhibit in several years, so don't miss it.
