Found Objects Primarily Death
How many times have you thought, “what would a genocide look like with a vibrant color field of primary colors and death represented as sacred and on a pedestal?” Jesse Raine Littlebird spent some time thinking about that and is presenting his findings in the form of the paintings that make up the solo exhibit PRIMITIVE EARTHQUAKE opening at AC2 Gallery (301 Mountain Rd. NE) with a reception on Friday, Sept. 6 from 5:30pm to 9pm. He is joined by Matthew Bollinger, whose concurrent solo exhibit, CHROMATICISM, features his mixed media drawings and paintings that involve the operas of Wagner. Found Objects Take A Big Whiff
Are people bugging you so much that you feel like you are going to puke? When a vulture gets harassed, they just vomit on whatever animal is harassing them. That usually gets them to stop! You can learn more about this great self-defense technique and other helpful tips from these magnificent birds you can apply in your own life at International Vulture Awareness Day on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10am to 2pm at ABQ BioPark (903 Tenth Street SW). Be sure not to miss the “Sniffing Station” where you can go nose to nose with vultures trying to smell dead animals from miles away. The first one to stick their bald head into a rotting carcass is clearly the winner. All of this fun is included in your park admission. For more information on this all-ages event, see abqbiopark.com.
