Thursday 1
“The George Foreman Campus Grill Off” (Food Network 7 p.m.) Teams of college students compete against one another with meals cooked entirely on their George Foreman Grills. … But, I can assure you, this is not an hour-long commercial for the George Foreman Grill.
Friday 2
“What Not to Where Are They Now?” (TLC 7 p.m.) Give it a second, the title will sink in. Here, the hosts of “What Not to Wear” return to past makeovers and see if they're still sticking to the new fashion rules.
“Biography: Paula Abdul”/“Biography: Ed Gein” (A&E 7 p.m./8 p.m.) Seriously, I have no idea what the theme is tonight, but this is the best “Biography” double feature ever.
Saturday 3
“E! News Special: Fall Entertainment Guide” (E! 7:30 p.m.) OK, so the summer wasn't so hot. Maybe the fall has some worthwhile entertainment in store for us.
Sunday 4
“2005 Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon” (KRQE-13 10:30 p.m.) If you're old enough to appreciate the entertainment that Jerry Lewis' annual telethon offers up (a handful of gray-haired crooners, some country music stars, a couple of ventriloquists and the comedy stylings of Ed McMahon), then you're probably too old to tune in at two in the morning to watch it.
“Entourage” (HBO 11 p.m.) Now that Vince has broken up with his costar Mandy Moore, will their film Aquaman sink or swim? Find out in tonight's season finale.
Monday 5
Supernova (Hallmark 6 p.m.) Join a hilarious mash-up of C-list stars like Peter Fonda, Luke Perry, Tia Carrere, Lance Henricksen and Emma Samms for three hours worth of explosive, miniseries fun as the Earth's sun goes bye-bye. It's on the Hallmark Channel, so it must be a “feel good” disaster movie.
Speak (Lifetime/Showtime 7 p.m.) Lifetime and Showtime join forces to simulcast this tough but redemptive drama about a teenage girl traumatized by date rape. Based on the award-winning novel by Laurie Halse Anderson.
“A Hot Dog Program” (KNME-5 9 p.m.) Hot dogs: what are they and why are they so popular?
Tuesday 6
Garbo (TCM 6 p.m.) Turner Classics explores the life and times of that most mysterious of movie stars, Greta Garbo.
“Roman Vice” (History 7 p.m.) Now that HBO is making ancient Rome hip again, History Channel is all over it. Tonight, we get to see what naughty puppies those old-school Italians were.
“The '70s House” (MTV 9 p.m.) So which of these reality show whippersnappers is the most '70s-like? Find out on tonight's season finale.
Wednesday 7
“A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T. Improv” (Bravo 9 p.m.) If you must know, it stands for “Automatic Sprinkler System Shutdown Siamese Connection Alternative Theater.” It features the critically acclaimed Upright Citizen's Brigade comedy troupe joining forces with guests like Tina Fay, Horatio Sanz and Andy Richter for some audience suggestion-based improvisational comedy.
